NODE Urban Impact Fellowship 

The NODE Urban Impact Fellowship is one of the initiatives within the Annexa’t Program, the talent platform led by Andorra Research + Innovation to attract, develop, and connect talent through research, innovation, and international opportunities.

In this case, the project is developed in collaboration with Andorra Telecom and the MIT City Science, with the objective of analyzing the urban and socioeconomic impact of the new NODE Building in Andorra la Vella.

The Challenge

The NODE Building, future headquarters of Andorra Telecom, will combine corporate offices with public-facing uses, including the future Carmen Thyssen Andorra Museum, the Center for Digital Wellbeing and Competences, retail areas, and new public spaces.

The selected candidate will develop an applied research and innovation project focused on analyzing, measuring, and proposing solutions on how this new infrastructure may influence areas such as:

  • Urban mobility and pedestrian flows
  • Economic activity in the surrounding area
  • Commuting patterns and new workplace dynamics
  • Organizational performance and professional experience
  • Tourism attractiveness and territorial positioning
  • Customer experience and public interaction
  • Sustainability and environmental impact
  • Downtown revitalization and public space quality

The objective will be to transform these impacts into data, indicators, strategic recommendations, and innovative solutions that help maximize the social, economic, and urban value of NODE.

Professional and Academic Opportunity

This collaboration between Andorra Research + Innovation, Andorra Telecom, and the MIT City Science Lab becomes a unique professional and academic opportunity that includes:

  • Full-time one-year employment contract, with expected start date in September 2026
  • Project development based at AR+I (Andorra), in close collaboration with Andorra Telecom
  • Three-month international research stay at the MIT City Science Lab (Cambridge, USA), with travel and accommodation covered
  • Salary aligned with qualifications and AR+I internal salary scales
  • Mentorship from professionals at AR+I, Andorra Telecom, and MIT

Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD students with a background in data science, engineering, urban studies, geography, economics, computer science, design, or related disciplines, with an interest in applied research, innovation, and urban environments.

Particular consideration will be given to candidates with:

  • Connection to Andorra (nationality or residency)
  • Strong English skills to work in an international environment
  • Experience with programming and analytical tools
  • Knowledge of data analysis, mobility, urban systems, or technology
  • Strong analytical skills, autonomy, initiative, and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and with multiple stakeholders

Candidates must be able to travel to the United States during the program period.

  • Pre-selection phase: June 10–16, 2026
  • Interviews: Week of June 29, 2026
  • Final selection: Early July 2026
  • Expected start date: September 2026
