Mothnight succeeds in expanding the catalog of Andorra's night butterflies

This Monday, May 2nd, about fifteen people have joined the celebration of the Mothnignt's fifteenth edition (Butterflies Night), and have participated in the activities organized in Ordino by Casa de la Muntanya.

The afternoon started with an introductory talk about the world of the birds and then, the specialist in nocturnal butterflies, Èric Sylvestre, showed with photographs the different families and species that can be found in the country.

Later, in spite of the fine and persistent rain that fell during the day, the assistants were able to check the ultraviolet light parachute previously installed near the hermitage of Santa Bàrbara, where they were able to contemplate three different species.

Thanks to the last edition of the Nit de les papallones it has been possible to expand the catalog of Andorra's nocturnal birds to 1,003 species.
